Archaeological Drilling and Salvage Excavation

Archaeological test trenching, salvage excavations and documentation work are conducted in accordance with the decisions of the Regional Boards for the Preservation of Cultural Property—under the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism—and under the supervision of the relevant museum. These activities are carried out by our in-house team of expert archaeologists and art historians, under the guidance of our scientific consultants.

Prior to test trenching, salvage excavations and documentation, the archaeological site is examined using non-destructive methods, such as geophysical surveys, remote sensing, and aerial photography. The data obtained from these processes serve as a foundation for subsequent excavation work; they help reduce excavation costs while enabling the collection of maximum information about the site within a shorter timeframe.

Following these preliminary assessments, targeted test excavations are conducted in specific areas identified based on the initial findings to uncover potential archaeological features. Depending on the results of these test trenching studies—and in line with the directives of the museum and the relevant preservation board—salvage excavations are carried out. These salvage excavations are conducted with scientific rigor, overseen by our expert archaeologists and scientific consultants.
